It was in 1976. I was a little kid looking out the window at the back of our big Buick, when I heard a song that has the essence of the song into perspective for me. It was Barry Manillow of “I write the songs.”
The song was catchy disgusting. Almost Cheese. When I was growing up, that song just kind of follows me everywhere. I had heard on the radio, television, cinema and karaoke bars. Only when I’m older and became a songwriter and then began to represent songwriters that I realized that the song a “classic” was.
It was several decades ago, and the song still haunts me and make Barry Manilow is a very rich man in the process.
